There are currently 22 horses in training at Hellwood, including four 2 year olds, by five different sires. (See HORSES FOR SALE). Richard is very pleased with the youngsters so far, and is excited about seeing them on the racecourse. "We were held up with the snow in January, but we are cracking on now" says Whitaker.
"Apart from Breezolini, last years two year olds were a little disappointing for various reasons, so I'm hoping this year's perform well, and I'm sure the three year olds will do better"
Most of the horses at Hellwood are Flat horses, but there are one or two dual purpose horses hurdling too, including Woodacre. In fact, the Whitaker's had a horse qualified for the Grand National years ago, but unfortunately, due to an injury, he never got to run at Aintree.
